FAQ: FAQ

ARE PURE BREEDS BAD DOGS? SHOULD I NOT GET ONE?

While this website often tries to convince you to open your mind to the adoption of mixed breed dogs, this does not in any way mean that pure breeds are bad dogs to adopt. If you have a real reason, or a true love of a specific breed, there is nothing wrong with trying to adopt that breed. What is most important is that you adopt, rather than shop for your pet.

DOES ADOPTION TAKE A LONG TIME?

This really depends on the place you are getting your dog from, but pet adoption does not have to be a long and tiresome process. It can take as little time as a matter of hours, to as much as a couple of weeks. If you are especially concerned about the time, you can talk to those working at a shelter about their specific process.

HOW MUCH WILL PET ADOPTION COST?

Much like the length of time it takes to adopt, the cost also fluctuates between different shelters. If there is special promotion, adoption could free, but that is normally not the case. The usual costs start at about $100 and range up to $500. These costs depend on several factors, one of which being if the dog is already spayed or neutered. If cost is an issue, you can always look at different shelters to find ones that offer the best price.
